An enormous pink knock-out bush lost most of its leaves and never produced new growth again. My brandy rose bush lost all of its leaves, but is valiantly fighting back, producing some new leaves and even buds at the top of the barren stems. I should emphasize that most of the leaves were healthy when I sprayed. I also sprayed my gardenia plant, which had white fungus, but was thriving anyway. From the time I sprayed, my gardenia became distressed, with about two- thirds of its leaves turning yellow. Six weeks later, the gardenia is finally recovering, producing new leaves and not looking so frozen. The fungus is gone, but so is the summer (pretty much). See all 1 customer reviews...

Alaskan Wildlife By anonymous I bought this bug spray to combat the amount of mosquitoes there are in the Alaskan atmosphere, and was pretty pleased with it. I especially liked the scent, which is citrus and zippy, much nicer than your typical lumberjack scented bug repellent. I wouldn't reccomend it to someone canvassing the rain forests, but it's a good basic repellent for daily use or picnics or something where you don't want to smell like you were coated in DEET beforehand. It comes in a cute metal bottle with a spray nozzle, but it doesn't produce a mist of spray, you'll actually apply this more like a handful of tanning oil or lotion, with your hand. 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful. review to keep the buggies away By K. Rebo I used this insect repellent while I was building a maze for a fundraiser. It really keeped me safe from the misquitoes of southern Mississippi. And it has no nasty chemical smell, like other repellents. It just smells of lemon oil. It is a little oily, but alot goes a very long way. 18 of 19 people found the following review helpful. Attracted Bugs AND Caused A Rash! By Optykal2 Well, to start, I want to say that I am a HUGE Burt's Bees fan, so when I was looking for an all natural bug repellent and found out they had one, I was very excited. Unfortunately, I really wish I had never bought it. Positives: -Scent: This has a really pleasant citrus scent to it that I really did like (however my husband though I smelled like I just sprayed myself in Pledge and he was NOT a fan, lol). Negatives: -It attracts bugs: What amazes me - having come on here to check out the reviews - is that people gave it 5-stars even after admitting it attracted beetles to them. That's astonishing really. Saying an insect repellent attracted bugs, and yeah, woohoo, go 5 out of 5 stars! Very bizarre. Ants seemed to be attracted to the scent and some black ants even bit me!! Beetles were also attracted to the scent - I felt like a giant walking insect sugar bait! -Rash: I looked around the net, including reviews on here (wish I had done that BEFORE using it, but always had positive experiences with all other products by BB) and a rash is a common result of using this. I have a nasty rash on my arms and legs now that itch intensely - it's much worse than a normal bug bite - and had do run out and get Benadryl and hydro-cortisone cream. Now instead of a few bug bites, I have bug bites AND a huge rash. -Oily: This is one OILY product. It's really quite disgusting how slimy and oily it is. I realize it's made with many oils, but it seems they needed to adjust the mixture if the end result looks like you just took a bath in oil. In addition, because of the extreme amount of oils in it, I also ended up getting some acne from it as well, even on my shoulders and upper arms, which is VERY abnormal, that never happens to me. So if you are someone prone to acne, DO NOT use this product. Ditto if you have sensitive skin. -Doesn't Spray/Mist: While it shows that you can spray/mist it on, it really shoots out a thin, narrow jet stream that splatters and leaks. Because of this, you have to sit and rub it all over and it's easy to get on your clothes, permanently staining them. I ended up staining my favorite sweatshirt because of this stuff. Overall, this only get's 1 star because, a. you cannot give zero stars and b. I'm still alive, so I guess that's a bonus. I truly hope I saved someone the pain of this product and wish I had seen these reviews before buying it as well. See all 29 customer reviews...

Most helpful customer reviews 23 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Non toxic pest control By Kate Black I discovered diatomaceous earth after a search for non-toxic pest control. DE is a mechanical killer -- meaning, it never loses effectiveness the way that poisons do. Diatomaceous earth is named after diatoms, the fossils of single celled organisms which have sharp edges that cut insects' exoskeletons so that they dehydrate to death. It's like razor wire for roaches. AND unlike boric acid (borax), it's food safe, so humans can use it in kitchens. Cover your mouth and eyes when you use this, because big puffs of dust will come up with each spray. It's safe stuff to use, but it's not fun to breathe. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. This is a SAFE product, as long as you avoid breathing in the powder By bobbydsgirl The reviewer who said this was not eco-friendly does not know what they are talking about. The warning on the bag does not say it is "hazardous to humans and animals," instead, it lists specific "hazards" which include only its abrasive properties (what kills the insects). Basically you should avoid getting it in your eye or breathing it in while spreading it. The substance is not toxic but it can cause physical damage to your lungs and eye because of its abrasive properties. The 22% patented baits are "inert, food-grade" baits to attract the insects. There is nothing toxic about them. A simple call to the manufacturer would have cleared this up. The other reviewer should not have just assumed that the other ingredients were toxic? What would be the point of adding toxins to a natural product for killing insects? The Concern DE is actually made by the same company. I gave this 4 out of 5 because we just put it down yesterday. I am sure it will work after what I've read about DE. It doesn't get a 5 because you have to be so careful not to breathe the powder, not just when you put it down but when you go to vacuum it up too. Always use a dust mask. There is another, very expensive product, out there that is not supposed to be as powdery (fleabusters) but we didn't want to spend the money when DE was an option. Whatever you do, don't use the DE used in pools! It's very dangerous as the DE has been heated to change its chemical composition and the structure of the DE. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Excellent and Safe Pest Control By just somebody ordinary I purchased this product as a inside the home pest control. I did not want to hire a professional. I sprinkled this stuff where the carpet meets the walls and around vents, doors, and outlets. A couple of days later I found insects of all types dead in random places. I simply vacuumed them up. It does not kill them immediately but sure enough should an insect come in contact with it, it is an automatic death sentence. I only used a tiny bit for a rather large bedroom. This stuff is visible on carpet but vacuums up easily leaving no trace. I find this product much more beneficial compared to insecticides that are potentially health hazards. Ultra-Kill Gallon Grass and Weed Killer Concentrate 128 fl oz MAKES 85 GALLONS
Directions Read and follow label instructions. Mixing: For best results use 2-1/2 fl oz (5 tbsp) per gallon of water. One gallon of water will treat approximately 300 square feet. It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Note: see the consumer information section of this label for important information on protecting plants you like. When to apply: Apply to actively growing weeds, preferably before the seed heads form. Completely spray the foliage of the weeds and grasses you want to kill until thoroughly wet. It's best to apply on a warm, sunny day when daytime temperatures are above 60 degrees F. Weed control is accelerated by warm, sunny weather. Apply when the wind is calm. Rain or watering two hours after application will not wash away effectiveness. Most treated weeds usually show initial symptoms in two to four days and complete kill in one to two weeks. Hard-to-control weeds may require a second application if not completely dead in four weeks. How to Apply: This product is formulated for spot treatment of individual weeds and grasses or for treatment of large areas as instructed on this label (see specific site areas). Apply with a plastic, aluminum or stainless steel tank-type sprayer. Do not apply with galvanized or unlined steel sprayer, or through any irrigation system or sprinkling can. Use a tank-type sprayer with a coarse spray nozzle for spot treatments. Use a hose-end sprayer to treat large areas such as for lawn renovation or to prepare sites for planting flower beds or vegetable gardens. Apply to evenly and thoroughly wet weeds and grasses.

Most helpful customer reviews 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Works great By C. Hulme I've only had my skeeter vac for less than three weeks. It works great, the basket is full and the sticky TacTrap is absolutly covered in mosquitos. I have been able to mow my yard after dinner without being attack. My dogs and I can go out and enjoy the backyard, something we could not do before buying the skeeter vac and its bait etc... I can't believe how fast I noticed a difference, I thought it would be at least a month or more. My neighbor across the street said her yard is really bad this year. We did get heavy rain this spring, prompting me to buy the skeeter vac. I haven't gotten one bite yet. I highly recommend this product. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Works great but pricy By W. Fisher I have nothing to say except it works. Within a day or two the entire strip is full of mosquitos and other various insects that are attracted to the SkeeterVac (I have the SV 27 which started immediately and has worked great so far). My only issue is that $10 per strip gets expensive when it has to be replaced weekly (there is no more room for insects to get "stuck"). At almost $20 per tank of propane, $20-$30 for strips and $10 ($20 for 60 days) it is costing me $2+ per day to run the SkeeterVac after the inital $300 investment. I guess that is just the cost of enjoying the summertime in our backyard. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. My second Skeeter Vac By G. Bograkos This is my second machine. The first one eventually gave out after 5 years of 365/24/7 Florida exposure, 2 miles from the beach. I now have a 3100 and it has a newer design which should extend its life over the last one. They do work and they work quite well. My only complaint is the by-catch. I have to check it every day and peel off the occasional lizard that stops by to eat the hundreds of bugs that get stuck to the tack trap. Unfortunately, some make it and some do not. Since lizards eat bugs too, I wish this did not occur :-( See all 17 customer reviews...
